[OpenID] URGENT Critical Vote needed now!

Don and John, can we send out another reminder to all members? For those of you who know someone who is a member but hasn't been active, can you encourage them to vote ASAP! Can we extend the voting period so we don't end another cycle without sufficient participation?

Cheers,

Brian

Hi.

An authoritative answer should come from the secretariat, but here is what I understand:

The quorum is the greater of the 30% of the entire membership or 30.
Since we seem to have 338 active members, that means 102 votes.
Among it, we have to achieve majority of the vote + super majority of the entire board.

Right now, only 58 votes has been cast, so we have significant shortage of the vote.

FYI, to start a WG right now, we need 68 votes, so if we only get a current level of participation, we will not be able to spin out a WG, which means we are dead as a standardization forum.

I urge everybody to vote.

the IPR process. Votes are needed now.

Many members may not be aware of the very high bar set for changes of this
sort.

You need something like a majority of all *possible* voters, not those who actually vote? It almost sounds like a passive DoS attack, then - just pay and forget to stall the voting process for that year.
