The thought right now is this: the foundation has allocated a bit of a  
budget for this, which comes from membership fees, and so it appears  
that we should favor our members with privileged information that  
their membership dues have paid for. I'm happy to entertain  
alternatives if you have any.

On the other hand, joining the OpenID Foundation isn't exactly hard or
