Do we want to cooperate with http://openliberty.org/wiki/index.php/IGF_Introduction ?
It's the notion of "governance" itself anti-thetical to the openid movement, perhaps?
Or, is the actual governance being performed by openid providers in a proprietary, value-centric way something that we now wish to tackle, so it all migrates to open systems?
One way to cooperate may be to agree with other groups on the service definition, while expecting openid to specify an alternative protocol based on its own extension framework. We all know that, once properly designed, its essentially irrelevant whether one uses X.500 DAP or IETF LDAP to a perform the X500 abstract directory service. And that's how good architectures are designed! You can and should always swap bit patterns on the wire, to suit community needs, dogma, legacy....
