I've been playing with that too - since I've long had Google SP talking to my SAML2 virtual IDP (thanks Google for doing it right!!), and thence to a OpenID OP.

I could not find the mentioned UI that allows one from email address to select an IDP.

Here comes a data point for non-usability.

I tried that.  I couldn't proceed because my email domain
doesn't start with "www.".
