It's probably just as interesting that they're now owned by MTV:

This is what's really interesting:

...using pictures of band logos to get people to sign in with existing
accounts from those bands' sites. I don't know that this scales, but it's
certainly a compelling approach, at least in this context (that is, signing
in to music/content sites).
