[OpenID] Doubts about the implementation of OpenID

Folks claim there are 26,000 companies already doing this, using mainstream blogging platforms (on a variety of OS).

MyOpenID happily support those 26,000 firms, with outsourced OP services, if I understand right. Presumably, most communities are 100-1000 parties.

As far as I can tell, few if any of those 26,000 RPs accept openids other than those minted for their closed network. I've scoured the web for them using crawlers, and found few (like <10).

Im at the same point I think, as you, on perhaps a bigger scale. I'd like to give someone like myopenid the 6 million URLs that we provision off to folks in emails, and let said OP outsourcer offer those users the ability to upgrade them to be openids - usable to talk back to Rapattoni-land and THEN perhaps other RPs in the realty universe. It would seem silly as a consumer that one cannot leverage a Rapattoni-provisioned openid also at other major realty sites with mass consumer audiences.

The key to all this is the assurances of the OP outsourcer, eg. myopenid. Will they or will they not sell off the correlations between RPs (like Google does, in pursuing its adwords revenue). Even if the trustworthy execs at myopenid don't do that today, will the company that buys (e.g.) myopenid then go do retroactive data mining....

Nice to see openID growing up, and hitting the (really) hard questions. If engineering adoption seemed hard, engineering a system of public assurances is even harder!

Hi everybody!!!

I intend to use the OpenID protocol in the company for I'm working; the goal is offering an internal authentication service using OpenID. However I have some technical questions about the OpenID's implementation.

First, there are some OpenID's libraries with differents functions, how can I select the best OpenID's library? Is there some library better than the others?

Second, I have seen tha the most OpenID's implementations are performed on Linux or UNIX enviroments, Can OpenID be implemented on Windows enviroments?

Third, in connection with the question above, Can I use SQL instead mySQL as OpenID's repository? Can I use other kind repositores like LDAP?

On the other hand, I'm looking for a company that can help me to develop a complete authentication system using OpenID, you wouldn't know the name and/or the contact's company that can help me by any chance?
