I disagree. There is a LOT more that it is trying to solve (and, by
the way, it has enjoyed a lot more success than you seem to imply -
but then, your criteria for success seem to lack all this "more", as
well).

Eh, speak for yourself. I don't really care about the single-sign-on
aspect of it, and I'm sure Peter can agree that XRI is another part
of our connective fabric. There is more to this community and its
goals than SSO, is what I'm saying, and I object to the implication
that it is *the* issue keeping us all connected.

This is a dangerous line of thought - migrating data "across OP's"
implies that *the user's OP* holds all this data, and the only
question is *who* that OP is. This goes directly against the idea of
a *user* controlling their own data. The user should have primary
ownership, with OP's only (temporarily) *authorized* to share that
data *on behalf of* the user. (Or, as I suggested a couple of
messages back, to share the current decryption keys.)
