[OpenID] Why become a relying party?

Continuing the thought - another valuable reason to become a relying
party is to gain access, not only to information, but *up-to-date*
information. A key challenge for the user is managing their
information across several sites (this is, interestingly enough, a
real-world problem as well), their preferences, etc. Hence, a key
benefit for the relying party is the ability for them to provide a
service that more accurately reflects your current state. This could
be as simple as displaying your current avatar photo or knowing that
you prefer text over HTML for emails, or more complicated, such as
your current location, etc.

This has already happened in some cases, just not via OpenID. Think
Flickr profile pictures, and the services that allow you to hook up
your account's avatar to your Flickr account.
