Seeing as we are talking about standardization of name/value pairs and hang-ups concerning the SEFs in the spec

Ive no idea if the concordia efforts is producting any real result on SAML and openid convergence (I doubt it, given the obvious religious basis for the divide!). But, the above would be a very practical way of enabling convergence - assuming appropriate mentoring by the IETF/IESG process. Adoption of opentoken within the openid community would go along way to addressing evaulation issues folk have with with openid's design of crypto and security service SEFs (security-enforcing-functions).
