Nooooo! Take a look @ http://www.apparently.me.uk/21072.html I believe
this is seriously a problem. Even within the *.OpenID domain, there
are too many lists, IMHO.
There's a delicate balance between having just enough processes and
still getting things done. In a transparent fashion.
I believe that everybody wants to:
a) get things done
b) in an open, democratic fashion.
Too many processes and committees and paperwork is an obstacle to get
things done for many pragmatic people. Too little and processes are
not transparent and open enough. I don't want to jeopardize the
upcoming election nor the foundation, but I believe that unlike other
organically grown open organizations there are many big players
involved in a hot topic, and the whole game played with a lot of
formalities and a lot of "stage show" where no-one knows who has
written the script for the show. At least, the foundation should
provide a framework for the process called democracy to evolve. The
buzz that has happened on this list lately clearly shows it is
important for many people involved.
And about the RPX thing on openid.net - it would be really ironic if
openid.net talked SAML to some OpenID gateway behind the curtains...
