My personal conclusion -- which is of course not backed by any evidence 
whatsoever -- is that AX hasn't been adopted because the attributes 
offered by SREG are sufficient for the common use-case of pre-filling a 
registration form.

AX will be adopted when there's a driver for it to be adopted. Simply 
serializing the SREG attributes in a more verbose way is not a killer 
app for AX.
