Peter, indeed, the XRI TC and the SSTC have had some early dialog about SAML
adding support for XRDS-based discovery. That would indeed bring the two
worlds closer.

The means by which a discovery agent determines and enable a user to select
IDP/OPs is not defined. Could be an XRD based process, for all it matters.

 

Further opportunity for convergence between mostly equivalent websso worlds?
