yep, my phrasing was too extreme. There probably are other ways :-)

By the way, wouldn't this be the same game-able data, seeing as

The vast majority of people go through only a few major OPs if there
information was aggregated together than they wouldn't have much of an
incentive to game also I would trust them more than a system that was
completely open to anyone.

Gets a bit complicated, and an independent trusted body would have to
implement such a system to get over the privacy issues. Also making it part
of the OpenID spec seems bad.

I am just thinking of how a scalable system could be built. I don't think
asking all OPs to openly publish this data would be something they would do
in the long run. Of course it would always be a matter of choice.

Can anyone think of analogies to this in other decentralized system? I guess
alexa/compete are analogies to trying to understand usage in a decentralized
system, so perhaps a perfect solution doesn't exist. Maybe in the future
there will be a business in predicting OpenID usage data :-).
