Thx Tom,
Not having looked since the February announcement, this was an
enlightening path to travel. There are some nice demos online but
they rather bring me back to my original concerns about the user experience.
- Very strong and very flexible signon systems are necessary but not
sufficient, especially if not cross-platform. We also need simple solutions.
- Is OpenID's need for proliferation well-served when buried under a
complex UI?
I would go back to wouldn't it be nice if one could use OpenID in a
reasonably consistent way on all browsers, regardless of client
platform, and if the cost of implementing RPs was low, regardless of
server platform.
I got the impression from earlier discussion on this list that the
part of the market that wants simplicity is a very significant
one. It feels like the multi-platform requirement is also
growing. Time will tell ;-)
