[OpenID] Changes to the website coming soon ...

I don't have the latest screen shot (actually I can't even find the
screenshot that I had) but we'll have something for folks to see on
Monday. A couple of points I should make about this:
* This isn't final ... this is an evolving process ... if you have
suggestions by all means offer them ... ideally you'll also ante in
some help to make them a reality ... :-)
* We'll be highlighting the efforts of the OpenID Foundation here as
well ... listing members (when we actually get members) as well as
supporters of the technology, awards won, products/software that
support it, etc. I'd like to reiterate that the goal of the
Foundation is simply to help promote and protect OpenID; not direct
the technical direction ... that's up to the community.
* Two goals of the new design is to make it easier for end-users to a)
find a provider and b) learn more about the technology should they
want to. There will be links over to the 'developers' section which
will be obvious (and developers tend to a be little more web savvy
than the average user).
* The Vidoop folks have been working on a tool that will help users
find a provider (or let them know if they already have an OpenID as in
the case of LiveJournal, WordPress and others). The first version of
this will be just that ... v1.0 ... we have no idea what's going to
work and what's best for the community so we're going to try to do
_something_ and go from there. Oh, and big thanks to the Vidoop folks
for slaving away on this ... :-)
I'm hoping that this push to get things in order on the website will
get more folks interested in helping out ... if something sparks your
fancy or you want to get more involved by all means contact David or
I!
Thanks!
