Hey Tom,
Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, that is definitely missing. Would it fit on the "For
Developers" page? Basically create a section along the lines of
"Software with OpenID" and link to open source which ships OpenID code?

Thanks, fixed.

This is probably going to be the most contentious part of the entire
site. Just to be clear though, this is still the community's site
not the Foundation's. The Foundation is becoming an increasingly
important part of the community, but for example the Foundation isn't
going to do something like "you have to be a member to be listed on
the site" or something crazy like that.

The main driver of adding this page was that there was a lot of spot-
on criticism (http://miksovsky.blogs.com/flowstate/2007/08/openid-
great-id.html) saying how hard it was for someone new to get an
OpenID. We struggled with trying to find the balance between a
completely free for all list (http://wiki.openid.net/OpenIDServers)
which the page still links to and the other end of the spectrum of
sending the user to a random provider from a shorter list. I don't
think that what we have today is perfect, which we say on the site
"we realize this list isn’t perfect", but it is a great step
forward. Generally we went for "Well Known" trying to use the litmus
test of would someone who has paid some attention to OpenID this year
heard of these providers. "Simple" is much more subjective, but
generally looking for users being able to quickly find out how to get
an OpenID, how to start using it, and not being required to download,
install, be SMS'd, etc before they can start using their OpenID.

What I'd really like to see us move to (assuming the community thinks
it would be worthwhile) is a directory of providers. Then annotate
each provider by things such as OpenID specs supported, languages,
authentication options, price, etc. Then when a user comes we can
better tailor the presented list to what they're looking for. Any
PHP developer interested in writing something like this?

I'm not a WordPress expert, looks like it might only be search blog
posts. :-\ Anyone know how to change this?

"s" added.

Yeah, one of the open notes is figuring out how to better link to
presentations, tutorials, etc. We need to better build out the "Dive
into OpenID" section on http://openid.net/developers/ though for
presentations we link to SlideShare from http://openid.net/discuss/
where most people upload OpenID presentations anyway.

Yeah, I always thought the title of just "OpenID" was too bland
compared to the old title. Other thoughts/suggestions?

Also a part of the site which needs to be built out more!

It definitely does!
