Using a client certificate like prooveme.com does not verify anything
about the user's identity, which I think is what Ed was asking about.
If I understand correctly, certifi.ca does not do any verification
either (even though you may use a cert from somewhere that *does* do
at least some verification to sign in to certifi.ca).
