[OpenID] Drupal OpenID (was: Re: On OpenID 2.0)

Drupal has had such a module auth system since before I joined the
project in early '03.

OpenID has been selected from on high (with maybe a little pushing and
encouragement  ;)  to be one such implementation that is core worthy -
since there are several known security issues with Drupal's home-grown
proof of concept "dist auth" login system and there is desire for a
'default' replacement.
