[OpenID] Simple Reg and Attribute Exchange

Hi all,

AX = Attribute Exchange Extension 
(http://openid.net/specs/openid-attribute-exchange-1_0.html)
SREG = Simple Registration Extension 
(http://openid.net/specs/openid-simple-registration-extension-1_1-01.html)

We're writing an AX extension for our OP. We need to support SREG 
because it appears that most consumers/OPs support it. In our Consumer 
we'll also need to support both as the OP may not support AX....

Are they meant to co-exist? Is the consensus that the OpenID community 
head for AX and "kind of abandon" SREG in favour of AX or should we all 
aim to support both for ever more?
