Re-reading this, I found that I'd forgotten to say how much I like
AroundMe. I'm very impressed with it so far, and I'm hoping that it
continues to develop.
I'd like to help out with the OpenID/OAuth-based protocol, although I'm
still not sure I understand if OAuth is really the best way to do it.
But I'll look closer.
I think my main point is that it'd be great to develop a protocol to
have:
* service-to-service notification (if I add you as my friend, both
your and my services know about it)
* richer relationship information (type of relationship, some
extra information (dates, comments), and possibly testimonials
or other acknowledgements)
