Hmm, this is why I just joined this list, to see if 
there is a good answer for that question?  There is no
way I am going to commit to a single point of failure
for all of my services, even if I control it!

Has there been any thought of using DNS records in 
a similar fashion to MX records for email to provide
a backup openid service?  This way I can run my own 
service but have the OX, Openid Records,:) point to an

alternate provider if my service is down.
