"OpenID: Great idea, bewildering consumer experience"
http://miksovsky.blogs.com/flowstate/2007/08/openid-great-id.html
This is a really valuable article. It's a critique of OpenID by a
usability guy ( http://miksovsky.blogs.com/about.html ) - it's pretty
comprehensive, and provides some useful suggestions for improving
things at the end.
The point about it being WAY too hard for OpenID users to find out
what it is and where to get one is currently being discussed on the
Marketing list - openid.net needs to change to be a user-facing site,
with the developer stuff still accessible but tucked away a bit more.
Unfortunately this means it will have to start recommending OpenID
providers, which is politically unfortunate but essential if the
standard is going to achieve wider adoption.
Cheers,
Simon
