Hmm, not sure how to fix that.  The easiest way might be to just  
upgrade.  The monobook portion of the skin is based of the most  
recent MediaWiki version 1.9.3, I just noticed you're running 1.7.1.   
( http://openid.net/wiki/index.php/Special:Version )  So it's likely  
an issue of how the template is handled, and if "fixed" it might not  
work in the latest version.

I *might* be able to help on these.  I don't suppose you could send  
me screenshots or pointers to these issues?  (or better, both! :) )
