Identity Commons Steward from OpenID

Johannes is right - regardless of the still-somewhat-amorphous nature of the
OpenID community and the development of a formal OpenID.org (or whatever it
will be called), establishing OpenID as a charter member of the Identity
Commons community is a vital step.
We can always revisit all of these things, and modify the IC OpenID working
group charter, as needed in the future.
+1 to adopt the charter.
+1 to nominate David Recordon as the initial Steward.
+ 1 to this voting procedure.

If you look at
http://wiki.idcommons.net/moin.cgi/OpenIdCharter
it defines the initial members of the working group, which are the people
that are constituting themselves as the OpenID Working Group in the Identity
Commons, and thus the ones that should be voting.
This does not mean at all that this will be the entire membership of
theOpenID Working Group in the Identity Commons, only that these are the
ones that initiated being also chartered within Identity Commons. (please
speak up if you want to be a member as well -- preferably after the vote to
make things simpler organizationally ...;-)) Note that the relationships of
theOpenID Working Group in the Identity Commons, Apache Heraldry, the OpenID
community on this list and others, and a potential trade organization for
OpenID, are still in flux, and so it is unclear what exactly theOpenID
Working Group in the Identity Commons actually means -- what we are united
in, however, is the desire to have a place at the table in the reconstituted
Identity Commons, and thus we need to get this vote done within the next 24
hours or so ...
The deadline is set by the Identity Commons, see
http://mail.idcommons.net/pipermail/community/2006-September/000710.html

To whom, may I ask, is this vote open?... All subscribers to this

If so, aren't you vulnerable to the (presumably unlikely) risk of weird
things happening, given that the list is public?...
Also:You might want to specify adeadline for this vote?...
Or are you all quite happy to be less formal about this voting stuff?...

Per draft charter

and the Identity Commons deadline for initial working group formation
by this Friday night,
I'd like to:
1) move to adopt the charter as written at the URL above
2) nominate David Recordon as the OpenID working group representative
to the Identity Commons Stewards Council.
I realize this is a bit late, but in our defense, I think neither of
the points above will turn out to be particularly controversial, and
we DO have the objective of becoming a founding working group of the
reconstituted Identity Commons, don't we? along the many other
founding working groups ... raising the flag that OpenID is here and
real. If we need to re-constitute, we can do this Saturday morning if
need to be, but for right now, let's just make sure we get the table
stakes in place for being a founding WG of IDC2 (hope people agree on
this).
We don't have a voting process either, as it turns out, so I propose
that
1. you vote +1 or -1 SEPARATELY on each of the above motions, AND
on this voting procedure, which I'll call "motion 3" (in addition to
the above two motions)
2. that if anybody produces only one vote instead of one vote for
the three motions separately, the same vote is applied to all three
3. that any motion passes if it has at least 2/3 of the votes as
+1, AND it has more +1 votes than any "competing" motion.
4. you can of course make alternate motions -- call them #4 and
such -- but keep in mind we have very little time.
Obviously, success for motions 1 and 2 depend on the successful vote
for this voting procedure (motion 3)
Given that I'm making these motions, I'll of course vote +1 on all
three.
