php gd/ttf problem

Hmm... okay, now I am totally confused. The problem was not the 
imagejpeg after all, but imagettftext...

I prefer packaged solutions when it comes to debian, but now it seems I 
have to compile php with gd and freetype myself to get this one sorted 
out... or replace captcha code with something more simplistic code, like 
the one from aardvark topsites code (the working app in my server)
