Sorry, I'm ignorant of rds, but if the web site read:

"Identity Service Discovery for Web 2.0"

it might be clearer that yadis is a discovery protocol and not an
authentication protocol.  I'm not an identity or authentication expert and
it was unclear to me that yadis is orthogonal to openid/lid.
