RDS is the abbreviation for really simple discovery.. I kind of like
YADIS better because it makes use of urls for servicenames, but the fact
is that RDS is already widely adopted by virtually any blog out there..
Its being used to discover endpoints for blogging apis such as
MetaweblogAPI, BloggerAPI and the MovableType API..
Although Yadis is better by design, because the RDS system is already
widely adopted (literally millions of blogs out there have a RDS
endpoint somewhere) it kind of makes me sad there is Yet Another ;)
standard out there.. Since OpenID 2.0 isn't finished, is there a chance
RDS support can be adopted at least in the discovery part of things?
Just having one standard for one thing is a good thing I feel.. maybe
YADIS and RDS can even be combined in one format, but haven't really
looked into that option..
