checkid_immediate Mode?

It looks like it is being used though a lot within dev environments i.e.
127.0.0.1.  It is however used within both the Moveable Type OpenID
plugin as well as the RT (bug tracking software) plugin for OpenID.  So
it does seem to me like it is being used though at one level or another.

I'm wondering if people can point me to relying parties using this mode,
versus checkid_setup, or if anyone is looking at using it?  So far I
don't think I've seen it used beyond Brad's demo, though may have just
not looked in the right place.
