Absolutely -- I wasn't suggesting that you /not/ organize an event --
I think it's a great idea! I was only clarifying the naming convention
to avoid any kind of legal problems (we don't want another Web 2.0^tm
kind of trademark debacle!).
Anyway, do go forward with this idea -- and, in fact, you should talk
to Matt Pelletier (www.eastmedia.com) who's in New York and might be
interested in helping out. East Media was involved in Versign's PIP as
well as writing Rails libraries for OpenID, so would be a good friend
to work with on this idea.
