Dan:
I manage the pip platform here at Verisign and I wanted to advise that we can reproduce the issue you raise in your email below. My plan is to deploy a updated version tomorrow which should fix the problem.
If you have any more questions about this, please feel free to contact me directly.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Gary.

Subject: Issues with pip.verisignlabs.com and Net::OpenID::Consumer
A participant here asked for testers, so I was throwing their OpenID
implementation through the wringer, and eventually ended up going back
to a super simple stripped down implementation with Perl and
Net::OpenID::Consumer.
Here's the weird bit: I can log in fine with LiveJournal. I can log in
with pip.verisignlabs.com *if* I run this code on a machine that's not
accessible to the net at large (ie: 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.196), but
if I put it on the net at large I get a "naive_verify_failed_network"
error. I'm sure it's something completely stupid, but I've promised
myself that I'm not going to get caught up in OpenID and web stuff
right now. Anyone else mind playing with this?
My code is at:
http://www.flutterby.com/openidtest/
Go to "login.cgi" to get a prompt.
Thanks.
Dan
