Hello GAIN POC CG participants,

I am pinging you on the off chance you have not been made a aware of the latest OIDF whitepaper on “Human-Centric Digital Identity: A Primer for Government Officials” which is open for comment through August 15th. We are keen to ensure the paper represents the current views of the global identity community, including this community group’s perspective.

This paper builds on the OECD Digital Identity recommendations (published as final July 2023) to provide practical and timely information to assist government officials that are responsible for enabling digital identity credential systems, globally. If we succeed, the recommendations from this paper will trigger a practical roadmap for global digital identity infrastructure development…a roadmap we will expand upon during an interoperability workshop in Paris the last week of November with numerous several other non-profits.

A final version of the paper will be published prior to the OECD panel on Digital Identity (second half September), where the Digital Identity Recommendations will be formally announced. The paper recommendations will be shared with Nat Sakimua was at the OECD in late September. Elizabeth and Mark are the co-editors of this paper.

As you know, a “sister” paper on Government-Issued Digital Identity Credential and the Privacy Landscape was co-branded by 7 non-profits prior to its final publication May 5 this year (including BIC), and we anticipate similar support for this paper.

Many thanks for your consideration!

Mark & Elizabeth
