With the presents of Börn Woltermann of Germany we came up with a practical solution
for the representation of the EU OpenID developments. Börn will probably join
the board because of the corporate membership of Scout24.de. Besides some other
OIDF members like John and Nat will be in contact with the EU community. Although
there might be some regional, cultural differences in the requirements for
OpenID, we all agreed that EU representation is important to stimulate local presence.

Members
A very important focus for the EU OpenID believers in 2010 is the visible
evidence of large RP’s implementing OpenID. No other marketing or technical
effort could defeat a real live implementation of OpenID at a serious RP.
Therefore a shortlist will be created of potential EU RP’s to target. The
shortlist will include all EU RP’s where we already have good contacts. Targeting
these RP’s will help to define priorities for developments and better
OpenID acceptance.

We discussed the possible marketing events OpenID should be present. We defined
three types of events:
- EU related e-ID conferences
- EU internet events
- RP specific events where the RP’s of our RP shortlist will be present
(online retail, insurance, travel, media)
The following events are mentioned:
- EEMA London 9-10th June ( a slot for the OIDF is available)

Looking at the Open Identity Exchange developments for US gov we think it is
good to share the work on the trust framework. Within EU there are some
developments for defining additional trust schemes in relation to OpenID. From
the EU perspective we will investigate the privacy related issues for the
different EU memberstates.

Next conf call will be 4th February. Current activities will be
managed by Henrik, Björn, Robert, Kick. Feel free to participate. Also a face

at The Next Web in Amsterdam this might be a good option to organize a EU
