[OpenID - Eu] Status of the OpenID Foundation Europe

@Steven:
Thanks, Steven, for your input. I agree that it is probably better to have a hand full of active people with clear defined responsibilities to lead OpenID Europe rather than all the current representatives together doing uncoordinated work. However, I think it should still be possible to keep a list of contact people in the corresponding countries. That would help to push information to that countries and visa versa.

@OIDF Board:
- Could somebody organize that I could get write access to openid.net and in which area / subheadings we should organize / transfer the content of openideurope.eu?
- Can you take care to somehow contact Snorri (I heard he is in California) and assure to transfer all his OpenID trademarks, domain-contacts, etc. to OIDF.

@All OpenID Europe:
Who want's to be an 'active' part of OpenID Europe? Please answer directly to me in order that I can convert the feedback in a coordinated proposal to OIDF. Please also include what kind of responsibility 'activity' you propose to take care of. Activities could for example be:
- Organizing face-to-face meetings 1-2 times a year
- Writing articles to be published to summarize what's going on related to OpenID in Europe. We should aim to have at least one headline a month.
- and so on... suggestions welcome.

@Current OpenID Representatives of the various countries:
- Please drop me an e-mail with your contact address and state whether or not you are still interested to be a OpenID representative of the corresponding country. Please assure that I get the e-mail by end of 2009. I will then assemble a list of current OpenID contact people in Europe. If you are currently not a representative of a country but what to be a contact person for a country, please also drop me a short message.

Regards

Robert, OpenID Switzerland

This group of 3 to 5 should have 1/2 on the actual OpenID Foundation board and be part a visible and active part of the development of OpenID. Not necessarily technically as people can do that from anywhere, but providing geo-context is so key to all this.

> End of 2008, Snorri got elected to the OIDF board of directors for a 2 years period in order to represent Europe in OIDF accordingly. Unfortunately, after he got elected, he almost disappeared from OpenID Europe activities. Nobody was officially appointed to take over Snorri's activities. I tried to reach him by E-Mail, Phone, SMS for the last 12 month but unfortunately with no response. Thus, the current situation is that many people (including me) don't know who actually manages OpenID Europe and more importantly, who is the owner of the registered trademarks and the domains such as openideurope.eu? Who has the contact information of all the European representatives? And so on. I thought Snorri donated everything to OIDF but I'm not sure about that.

One place where to move it could be http://openid.net/foundation/chapters/europe/ in order to have it in the hands of OIDF. If I can get write access to openid.net, I could take care of that part.

However, it is probably not widely recognized on the Internet as it just doesn't get published to a wide audience. OIDF could be a great platform to do so. I'm sure we all could do better, so lets restart OpenID Europe!
