[Openid-digital-directives] No DADE meeting today - sorry for the late notice

OIDF is getting close to publication of the white paper and planning guide — and we’re seeking your support of that process! Please get in touch with the co-chairs (me, Mike, and/or Dean).

In the meantime, based on our meeting of two weeks ago, we shared a plan with Elizabeth Garber about how we intend to gather interest in setting up a WG over the course of Q1-Q2. Here are some notes from that. We welcome your concrete support here as well!

First of all, we identified “communities of interest” that we want to explicitly draw the attention of as part of the paper/guide publication cycle. This is meant to be an as-tight-as-possible list, with simple examples.


  *   Individuals, facing life transitions in their families and communities
  *   The death care industry, such as funeral services
  *   Government agencies involved in death administration, such as reporting
  *   The financial services/fintech industry, for fiduciary management considerations
  *   Relatedly, the insurance industry, for beneficiary management considerations
  *   And relatedly, the legal services industry, for estate management considerations
  *   The healthcare industry, which must account for relevant caregiver relationships
  *   The world of tech innovators, seeking to solve tough challenges around identity, AI, and life transitions
  *   And large online platforms, whose broad global population coverage ensures they interact with “all of the above”

Second, we want to offer availability at in-person events through June, to hold “death and the digital estate” conversations with whoever may be considering contributing to the future WG effort. Our intent is to keep a running list of events/cities/dates/times and which DADE representative(s) will be available for those conversations, initially built off of Heather’s big list of identity events<https://github.com/fedidcg/meetings/wiki/2026-List-of-Identity-and-Related-Conferences-and-Standards-Development-Events>.
