Thank you, Dean. I read through the document, and it does a very good job
of outlining the steps involved in preparing for digital estate management
after death or incapacitation.
It's pretty clear that standards need to emerge on "breaking glass" to
access a digital estate after a death. The current processes for
identifying the scope of an individual's digital estate are manual and
error prone. Similarly, when managing digital assets after someone's
digital estate post death, the document makes it clear that there is a lot
of administrative work to be done. I am excited to see what ends up being
proposed in the areas of delegation and "break glass" so that we all have
an easier time of this digital estate management.
This whole thing is just crying out for a startup.
