time getting critical mass on Committees and determined that we’d try to limit
the initial number of them. That said, any committee can form
subcommittees to support their objectives. For example, the Adoption
Committee is already forming a Online Retailer subcommittee chaired by Rob
Harles of Sears since adoption by retailers may have specific needs beyond
general RP adoption. If the Adoption committee determines that a UX
subcommittee is worthwhile and can be adequately staffed, that’s
great. But we want to be clear that the overall goal is Adoption, not UX,
not marketing. UX and Marketing exist to drive Adoption, which is a top priority
for 2010. My hope is the Adoption Committee, with strong leadership and
input from existing and prospective RPs, will help us determine the areas that
the OIDF needs to focus on most to drive adoption, then we’ll allocate members/volunteers/subcommittees
and OIDF resources to support those stated needs.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";

Good question, I’d ask that anyone who is a member of any of the
committees who would like to serve as a Chair or Vice Chair, would start the
process of organizing their committee by emailing all the committee members and
facilitate the process of having that committee elect its chair and vice
chair. I have started that process with the members of the Adoption
Committee and have talked with Daniel, Rob, and Marc who have agreed to serve
in the listed positions if the rest of the members approve. If there are
other members of the committee who would like to serve as chair or vice chair,
we’ll have a similar discussion to what we did for the Executive
Committee, and if necessary have a vote.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

So anyone who is interested in being a chair or vice chair of any committee,
now is your chance to share that desire with the rest of the members of the
committee and get your committee organized. Once you’ve selected a
chair and vice chair, I’d ask each committee to update their portion of
the Committee home page and to create or modify existing pages for that
specific committee. For example, the old Marketing Committee page has
been converted and updated to the new Adoption Committee page:<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><a href="https://openid.pbworks.com/Adoption-Committee"></a><a href="https://openid.pbworks.com/Adoption-Committee"></a><a href="https://openid.pbworks.com/Adoption-Committee">https://openid.pbworks.com/Adoption-Committee</a></span><o:p></o:p></p>

to the Security and Government Committees, hope that’s OK.
Realistically since Mike Ozburn lives in DC and is focused on the government,
it seems like he might be the most reasonable candidate for the Chair.
But that’s up to the Security Committee to figure out.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
