consuming a disproportionate share of attention, when there are many other things
we can and should be focusing on. If we could only tap as much energy and

OpenID, we’d all be much better off. Feel free to use the open-board

Brian,

Thanks for stepping in here, but I must say that I feel your message below is
inappropriate. The issue of of how one should act on an OIDF list,
especially when it concerns activity that may or may not get somebody banned
and/or removed from the OID community, is not a decision that should be left to
the board to make in private (even *if* you are going to take into account
emails sent directly to you and the board).

The OpenID community was, in large part, built on these lists, *in public*, and
this discussion topic deserves a fair and *open* debate, IMHO. My
apologies if I've mis-construed your email below, but instead of an open debate
about, and public consideration of, this issue -- it appears list members have
been muzzled from discussing this issue publicly(?), and at the request of the
Board Chair, no less!!

I feel very strongly about this issue, and would appreciate the opportunity to
continue discussing this issue in public with my fellow list members -- they
have many good points, and so do I (plus I feel like some sort of consensus was
beginning to emerge). Have I misconstrued something here? Is there
some good reason not to allow us to discuss this issue in public?

Sincerely,
Thanks to everyone for sharing their input so far. Please do send me your
thoughts directly and let's keep it off the list at this point. The board
will be discussing on our next board call this week and come up with a fair and
consistent policy for all our lists.
