[OpenID board] Unable to authenticate, therefore unable to nominate myself

It looks to me like Chris has a legitimate problem with accessing the site, so I do think we should rectify that.

I think it is unwise to start changing the election rules, and that you are twits for leaving it to the day to do your nominations.

However there seem to be enough people in the same boat that I would support a subset of the board who are not running this year, makeing a recommendation on re-opening nominations for a short period tomorrow. I don't think we want to start slipping dates for the vote significantly.

So I'll reiterate that I think it's in the best interest of the foundation to slip the deadline for 24-36 hours. If not, so be it, but IMO that would be a pretty dumb reason to block good board candidates.

As the past elections committee chair for the previous two elections, upon which this year’s election’s procedures were based, I do have some authoritative knowledge of the facts below.

The election tool enforces the dates and times entered. The Noon Pacific time starting and ending times were used for the 2008 and 2009 elections as well.

If I'm not the only one unable to authenticate with my delegated OpenID, I wonder who else has been unable to self-nominate themselves for the election?
