Dear OpenID Asian Community Member, Dear Business Leader:

This email is addressed in priority to all people who are presently working
in Asia.

I am planning a special, personal OpenID Asian trip in the spring 2009. The
objective of this trip is to strongly empower OpenID in Asia and to move it
forward in the whole Asian Continent.

As I write this, I note that the number of active Web users un China will
surpass that of the users based in the United States in 2009 (280 million
Chinese users, source: CNNIC).

I am planning to spend between 7 and 10 days in each country. Visits have
already been prepared in 4 countries (China, Korea, Japan and the Indian
subcontinent) to:

*Promote the Benefits of Company/Organizational Membership and convince
Asian businesses, organizations and individuals to become members and to
subscribe to the Foundation, as well as to support it financially

*Organize a Two-Day Event exclusively dedicated to OpenID, using the last
OpenIDDevCamp as a model
(http://openid.net/2008/01/14/the-first-openiddevcamp-was-a-success/).
Venues will be procured by local organizations (Sponsors/Members).

*Deliver a Kit to the Local Chapters already in place; create official Local
Chapters in the countries where they do not yet exist.

*Meet with local OpenID Communities and other organizations such as Open
Source, Universities. We will use the Workshop format and brainstorming
sessions.

*Put forward a Media Event to promote a large local Internet site (RP) who
will just have implemented OpenID.

*Meet with decision-makers, CEO/CTO of businesses, start-up associations and
government officials,

*Organize a Press Conference with the local media and influential bloggers
in the country,

*Meet and interview a panel of end users (public venues, schools,
residences.) to demonstrate how OpenID can be used every day (OPs-RPs).

*Any other project/action the OpenID Foundation would see appropriate and
important to put in place.

To become a success, this complex trip needs intense preparations and
coordination ahead of time. It can only happen with the help and assistance
of Local Communities, Businesses and organizations to plan and prepare
events and appointments.

I am convinced that such a Tour would have very favorable repercussions
throughout the Asian Continent. My first thoughts and a first invitation are
extended to OpenID Japan, who could play an instrumental role in
kick-starting this event.

The www.OpenID.asia site will be dedicated to the Tour, as it unfolds from
country to country.

If you work in Japan, China, Korea, Australia (and New Zealand) and India.
or any other countries in Asia, your help will be valuable.

We are counting on your help!

Thank you very much

Regards,

-Snorri
