Are we obligated to pay it? If not, weems like we'd want to hand over the incoming BOD and ED as much cash as possible. If we're obligated to pay because we made a public commitment to pay up to some amount, doesn't seem like we have a choice.

I assume we have the funds to actually pay this at this time without jeopardizing any other needed expenses? Could somebody who has access to financials confirm this?
