Hi Everyone,

We need to wrap-up the bounty program that we launched 2+ years ago.

We have had several on-going requests for bounty awards and I want to
get an answer to the folks asking. I'd also like to use this as a
chance to close out the bounty program.

The Dokeos and TwikiWiki projects have both been asking for the
awards. At first glance, they appear to qualify so we would be
looking at a total of $10,000. In addition over the last six months
we've also had the Joomla folks inquire about potential bounty award
(and appear to qualify as well):

Dokeos: http://www.dokeos.com/
TwikiWiki: http://twiki.org/
Joomla: http://joomla.org

Originally we were paying out the bounties on a pay-as-you-go basis.
That means each of the companies that offered up money for the bounty
would do so as they were awarded. I can invoice each of the companies
again or we can just cut 3 x $5000 checks to each of the qualifying
projects and then do a blog post that would announce the awards and
then close out the bounty program (with a total of 6 winners over the
life of the program).

In the interest of getting a definitive answer for the projects that
are asking, I'm going to make a motion:

The OIDF will pay out $5000 open source code bounties to Dokeos,
TwikiWiki and Joomla and do the associated PR/blog post to close out
the bounty program.

Thoughts?

- Scott
