[OpenID board] Trademark problem?

I know this Dick, from a legal point of view this is correct (but it is not
true in every country). However, from the point of view of communication and
projected image, this means that there is a real intent to prove that
everything is done "above board," that all normal business measures have
been taken. 

Please go see www.google.com (TM) or http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/  [see (R)
between Firefox and 3] you will see that these people have not forgotten...

Speaking of such matters, what is happening with the brand OpenID +
OpenID.ca that you have protected in Canada, do you intend to assign this to
the Foundation?
(As Johannes did for the United States, and as I have done for Europe...)

When beginning negotiations, even if there is no possibility or expectation
of conflict, with other businesses, it is good practice to establish basic
rules and if one wishes to be taken seriously, (and to avoid lenghty
litigation) proceedings stemming from these little (R) or (TM) on logos; it
is important to keep up a page openid.net/trademark to summarize our policy
and to place a footer at the bottom of the page reading
"OpenID(R) is a registered trademark of the OpenID Foundation."

But you have a trademark committee... to manage this...

(R) and TM are not necessary for a mark to be a trademark.
