Specifications council formed today ...

Hi Everybody,

Today during the bi-weekly board meeting, we voted to approve the
proposal for a specifications council.  This is a big step forward for
us as it will allow us to address IPR concerns as well as let the
working groups start to move on the work they have been doing.

The specifications council is currently made up of two board
representatives (Dick Hardt and Mike Jones) as well as 5
as-yet-to-be-named community members.  As soon as the community
selects those members they will be added to the specifications council
automatically.  The current OpenID specification editors are working
on choosing those members.
