[Openid-specs-risc] RISC and multiple events in a single SET

Hi all,

During the Seattle F2F last month, the topic of multiple events within a single SET came up. This is something that the secevents SET spec allows, with the intention that each event in the SET relates to the same “real world” event, or that they may be extensions of a single “primary” event. This design brings with it a lot of complexity: different event types may have different, potentially conflicting ways to identify the subject; the notion of relatedness of events is vague and ill-defined; and there is no mechanism for enforcing or validating that events are actually related. This creates a lot of room for receivers to make incorrect assumptions about events, due to misunderstanding the significance (or lack thereof) of bundling events together.

From a RISC perspective, it seems to me that supporting multiple events per SET introduces a lot of complications for very little benefit, but I’d like to hear from the rest of the group. Does anyone have RISC-related use cases that require or benefit heavily from this feature?
