As of November 6,
- 10 people have contributed to this thread
- 5 of the 10 have done so in private
- 2 of the 9 are the co-chairs and they did not vote as far as I can tell
- A new choice, K , was added to the list

2 A - Our standards work is incomplete
1 B - Implementation of our profiles is too expensive
2 C - Why would a hospital want to make patient-directed access easier?
D - HEART distracts the patient from the hospital’s portal experience
4 E - US regulations are inadequate from a patient rights perspective
2 F - NATE and other HIE groups don’t see the value of HEART to their
business or mission
1 G - Patient-directed exchange does not allow the patient to pay for API
access
3 H - CMS and VA have not endorsed HEART or put it on their road map
3 I - We have not done enough PR and promotion
1 J - People don’t know about it and don’t understand it’s value
1 K - Patients do not typically do not have access to their data from
which to control an exchange
     L - Other________________________

The winner is E, with 4 votes. 3 people voted for a failure to reach CMS
and VA. It's interesting that all 4 of the E votes and all 3 of the H came
from people that wanted their votes to be private.

I and J could be considered the same which would put promotion as a tie for
1st place. Furthermore, a way to look at these results is that C, I, J, and
K are all in the promotion category and add up to 7 votes.

My take-way summary of this poll is that HEART should spend most of our
energy on promotion, regulatory input, and outreach to the federal health
architecture. Further standards work seems to be far down the list of
priorities unless we can recruit some additional participants and voters.
