Hi Ralph

I don't really like this part:

I suppose its too late to change it, but this is the same issue I have with
draft-cavage / http signing

I would rather take the dpop approach and create some top level key names
for relevant headers (e.g. htm and htu):
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-fett-oauth-dpop-04#section-4.1

In fact I see they are actually relying on draft-cavage for how construct
the http header payload :

"http:
> //uri.etsi.org/19182/HttpHeaders” follow the string construction
procedures to create the Data to be
> Signed as defined in draft-cavage-http-signatures-10 [27], section 2.3.

As noted before this is an individual draft, I don't think an international
standard should rely on this.

I think we need to consider moving away from recommending headers for
business critical metadata. Really things like ip address, geo-location and
other fraud factors should be put in the body of the request. Then we can
recommend that the simplest and least error prone way of signing can be to
turn the request body into a JWT.

I would prefer an extension to DPoP that defines how to sign the digest
header.

Dave
