FAPI is not using OData.

We are using JSON and JWS.

btw, the doc they published was based on json.

Is there some particular reason why fapi chose odata over json?

i guess the real question is whether either of them are interested in creating a standard. I can ask the program manager from Gates to see if he has any interest. I did not get much response when i raised the question of their direct participation in fapi. ..tom

Another spec to cater those cases is not inconceivable.
AFIK, Orange, who is one of the main participants of the Modrna WG is big in Sub-Saharan financial transactions and so is Vodafone. We might be leverage on their experience. Please let me know if you have concrete steps that we can take.

The level one project is funded at a high level by the Gates
Foundation. It is currently focused on 8 countries in South Asia and
sub-Saharan Africa. I have spoken to the project manager about FAPI,
but there seemed to be little overlap at this point. I would like to
see that change.

Nat Sakimura:

* Tom raised an issue with FAPI solely concentrating on G20 economy
on a April call that we need to start looking at developing
economies. e.g., countries with stored value on the phone like
m-pesa.
* https://leveloneproject.org/ [2] has some API for such countries.
* Nat pointed out that although our priority is on EU right now, we
should get there eventually and plan that out.
He has much sympathy with those countries as he grew up in
Kenya. Nat also has a connection with the CEO of Taqanu
(https://www.taqanu.com/ [3]), a bank dealing with those market, so
we could try to coordinate.
