[OpenID] A lesson from history for Facebook

Innovation (disruptive technologies) cannot take advantage of 
previously carved paths, since that means striking out in a new 
direction.

We can continue to give users (and RP's) exactly what they say they 
want (such as verified E-mail addresses), but think a moment - this 
has worked out so well for everyone, has it? There's a saying about 
the definition of insanity; repeating the same actions but expecting 
different results. To achieve the vision of a better future, we may 
need to come up with some new ideas - whether or not those ideas are 
comfortable or familiar to users and RP's accustomed only to what 
they already know.
