Dear Lukas,

It's a great work, congratulation! And of course about starting the German
Local Chapter.

Good luck for your IdentityCamp

Cheers

-Snorri

PS: I will answer this night about your another email.

Dear European OpenID Community,

as the German OpenID Representative I'd like to give you some information
about OpenID in Germany. Unfortunately I don't have numbers about OpenID
users in Germany and the awareness of the people outside of the tech
community. Inside the tech and geek community however most people have at
least heard of OpenID. Some companies are testing the technology or think
about implementing it, that's what I got from talking with many people, but
nothing really huge.
As Snorri suggested, I have also talked with various people on starting an
own German OpenID chapter. Next weekend, the 7th/8th of June, there will be
the IdentityCamp in Bremen (North of Germany,
http://barcamp.org/IdentityCampBremen) where there will also be a lot of
talk on this topic. I'll try to keep you up to date and even hope to see
some of you at this camp.

For all the German (or at least German-speaking) people on this list, I'd
like to point your attention to http://openid.mixxt.de/ which is a "social
network" (now mainly a wiki, I plan to use it for mailings, too) created on
the mixxt platform especially for OpenID in Germany. Register and
participate!

Greetings,
 Lukas
