Hi everyone,

Refreshing the Europe website would be great. If I can help in anyway let me
know (I'm a PHP/Applications developer primarily). Wish I could get time to
get to one of those Dinners sometime soon!

I would not suggest a Wiki by itself - largely since a Wiki is good for
community documentation but is not always the best for the initial public
facing pages. Having a wiki for such things as ad-hoc pages, documentation
and events would be fine however. I'd suggest something like Wordpress or
indeed Typo3 (easier than Joomla - and an expert in the ranks with Ekkehard
;)) which needs minimal management. I'm largely PHP focused to Robert's Java
here. If we used a versioning system ( e.g. Subversion) we could even go
completely to plain HTML/Markdown in multiple languages for the static
website - and have a wiki for other dynamically produced content. Supporting
multi-languages seems essential - only the UK and Ireland are English
dominant.

I think one idea that should be considered is getting all the OpenID EU
members and users providing news and/or blog posts somewhere. Something as
simple as aggregating (Planet style) tagged RSS feeds so visitors know what
the European communities are up to in OpenID. Getting the word out and
having tutorials/other sourced from member blogs could be a useful asset. At
present it's difficult to know what's happening in another country without
deliberately searching for it. I wouldn't even ask it only be English - I'm
at least comfortable in reading French and German (besides Irish Gaelic and
English).

Best,
Paddy (the Irish Representative for those who don't know me ;-))

Hi Robert and all,
and "cheers" for a start, since I never posted on this list before.
<introduction>
Frankly, I have not been involved with OpenID very much in the past but am
perfectly willing to support it where I can. For a living I am mostly
working with the TYPO3 CMS, and only recently presented OpenID and our
OpenID plugin for TYPO3 to the public at the TYPO3 conference, see e.g. my
blog post on
http://www.naw.info/blogs/typo3security/2007/09/22/t3con07-openid-fur-typo3-
veroffentlicht/
(sorry, it's german...)
</introduction>

Anyways: We do quite a lot of TYPO3 projects and we easily could sponsor
both design/setup and hosting of the site. Let me know if you guys are
interested.

Besides that, I am very much looking forward to get to know some people in
Berlin!
greets
/Ekki
